And The Winner is…

*Drumroll* please…. CONGRATULATIONS to Saskia Goldberg from Sandton! You are the WINNER of the two-month winter special competition from Adventure Boot Camp for Women

A rep from the boot camp will be in touch with you soon with all the deets! 🙂

Thanks to all you other lovely ladies who entered the competition.

I don’t know about you, but this competition has inspired me to get out of my comfort zone a little…

I love this quote!

I can’t believe I hated exercising so much at one stage. I blame the ridiculous PE sessions we had at school – they were so lame. Now I can’t imagine my life without it.

I’m joining in!

Starting next week Monday, 2 June I’m joining an Adventure Boot Camp too… yikes. I won’t lie, I’m a little nervous about it. I’m not exactly what you’d call sporty – I avoid playing team sports like the plague, so this is going to be very interesting. But I am looking forward to the runs, circuits, weights, and other fun activities. It will be good to be in contact with other women too, seen as I spend so much time working from home.

And if it rains – we’ll workout under shelter, YAY! (Double checked that yesterday when I got my camp conformation mail).

I’ll be updating a few highlights from some of those sessions during next month, so stay tuned. If you’re also feeling inspired, why not consider joining a camp too? Personally I think this is a much better way to get fit compared to the gym – but let’s just see how June goes first, shall we?

Check out the Adventure Boot Camp for Women website to see prices and details of what the camps are all about.

Now if only this stupid bug would disappear. Every few weeks it threatens to break out into some full-on flu, but I somehow manage to zap it in its tracks. I’m trying to keep low this week – drinking plenty of vitamins, getting rest, and making sure I don’t stress.

Speaking of which, the launch date for Imagine You has shifted a week and will go live on 9 June, yay! (No stress, no stress, no stress….)

Impi Challenge

One of my friends and her husband have just signed up for the Impi Challenge in October. Now, this isn’t really my scene because I’m claustrophobic and have a fear of heights, but if you don’t mind that and enjoy running through mud and want to have a fun day outdoors with a bunch of friends, why not check it out?!

That’s it from me for the week, have a good one!

A boot camp! I would have loved to join in the fun, but have some physical challenges. Anyways, you have fun Melanie and secrete all that adrenaline for a more energetic YOU, and your vibes will be felt across 🙂

Hey Ruchira! It’s going to be interesting is all I can say. Not really my thing at all, but I thought, why not just try a month? 😉 Hope you’re having a fab weekend too xx

  2. I like the direction you are taking with this blog. Keep up the good work, Mel, and enjoy the rest of your week.

Thanks Bill 🙂 I’m relieved this blog is finally making sense, lol. It’s taken a while, but oh well – live and learn, hey?! Have a fab day my friend 🙂

  3. Not good with heights either and not sure when that started for me, but as I am getting older, just so not a fan to be honest. Huge congrats to your winner and yay to you for doing a boot camp in June now, as well!! 🙂

So with you there, Janine! Much prefer things all one one level with lots of light and space, lol 😉

  4. Congratulations to Saskia and enjoy boot camp. I love West Workout but miss having someone to train with 🙂

That’s what I used to miss too when I went to the gym. Mind you, a good music playlist does wonders 🙂 I can’t wait till Viva Gym hits Cape Town. I wrote the copy for their sales brief last year and couldn’t talk about it, but now they’ve launched in JHB and I’m so excited about this European concept that’s come to SA. Might just sign back up to the gym again if one opens nearby!
